What Ship-Thru Services Does For You
Kranz Body Co. is proud to have been awarded ship-thru status with GM out of their Wentzville, MO facility for work truck upfits on the new Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon. We've also been awarded ship-thru status for the Express Van and Savanna (van). But what does that mean for you as the customer? Ship-thru enables us to help you get a new upfitted vehicle. It can be equipped so that it's already exactly how you want it without needing to have any new accessories or products installed. Your work ready vehicle or vehicles let's you skip so many steps in making sure you're upfitted and ready for the job. Your specialized rig reduces time, headaches, and expenses at the end of the day.
What is Ship-Thru
Ship-Thru is a service offered by the vehicle manufactures (Ford & GM) for the transportation of a vehicle from their production plant, through our St. Louis, MO facility for upfitting. Once the vehicle is “work ready” it goes back into the manufacturer's transportation system and delivered to a dealer near the driver’s location. Typically there is a handling fee added to the manufacturer's invoice to cover coordinating, shipping, and paperwork. The advantages of the ship-thru process are that fleets of all size are able to control the quality, consistency, and costs of vehicle upfitting.
